Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Honda CR-V - etrailer.com

Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 13555 from Curt on a 2009 Honda CR-V. We are underneath the vehicle, and we are going to go ahead and locate the mounting location for the trailer hitch. In order to do so, we are first going to need to lower the exhaust off of its hangers to gain access to the passengers side frame rail. As you can see, we have got one rubber hanger that the exhaust is going to need to come down from. And then on the inboard side, nearest the trunk well, we have one here as well. From there you can see we have got two weld nuts here at the end of the frame rail. Those are going to provide our two frame-mounted attaching points for the trailer hitch for both the passengers and the drivers side. And then at the center attaching point we are going to be using the tow hook. We are going to be taking the basic U-bolt that comes in the installation kit. We are just going to slot that over the tow hook and we will mount the hitch up there. And then, over here on the drivers side, you can see we have got four weld nuts here in the frame. We are actually going to be using the two middle ones as our attaching points for the hitch over here on the drivers side.
